There are two methods of outputting SMDR data.
Capture the SMDR data to a file from socket number 1752 using TCP/IP output streaming.
Send the SMDR data to an LPR1 port or other output device.
Install the output device
To install an SMDR output device:
Connect the output device to the LPR1 port.
Program the system to route the SMDR records to the LPR1 port.
Program the LPR1 port with the parameters of the output device.
NOTE: Data formatting of SMDR records is an integral part of the system and does not require additional hardware or software modification.
Program the SMDR output
Go to the Application
Logical Ports form
(
Enter LPR1 in the Port Physical Name column in the SMDR Logs field.
Program the output device parameters
After connecting the output device, program the printer port with the parameters required by your output device. To determine the parameters of your output device, refer to the manufacturer's documentation.
The printer ports default to the following output parameters
baud rate: 1200 baud
parity: none
number of Tx bits: 8
number of stop bits: 2
NOTE: The SMDR output can also be sent to LPR1 telnet port 1754 when programmed in the Application Logical Ports form.
